Decision-making in management of technology: a literature review

Abstract: This work reviews the various concepts of management of technology (MOT) and investigates the application of agent-based modelling (ABM) in MOT decision-making. It draws the knowledge acquired from the literature review in MOT field for the past two and a half decades. This paper accentuates the importance of evolution with respect to the swift pace of technological changes and the global emerging business paradigms. MOT is an essential strategic means to enhance business competitiveness. It helps to create opulence in countries that successfully apply its principles. Hence, it is necessary to explore all the aspects of MOT. Further, the article reconnoiters the fundamental principles of MOT and provides insights on decision-making using ABM.
