Distilling factors influencing international mobility: international students' perspectives

Abstract: In today's world to meet the challenges of globalisation, countries are stressing the need to internationalise their institutes and education system. Student mobility has always been an integral component of internationalisation of higher education (IHE). The objective of this paper is to analyse the available factors which influence promoting IHE in the existing literature and find a reliable and valid measurement model of these identified factors for promoting IHE from perspective of the international students. International students who are pursuing education or have completed education from institutes in Pune have been taken as research sample. Based on extensive literature review, a structured questionnaire asking their experience or perception of the identified distilled factors at five-point Likert scale was prepared and the reliability and validity of these factors have been performed to suggest a framework. The paper is written considering the views of students who have been pursuing higher education in India, however the identified factors may also be implemented on a wider geographical platform.
