International Journal of Public Sector Performance Management (IJPSPM), Vol. 8, No. 1/2, 2021

Abstract: Enterprise architecture (EA) consisting of four architectural components of business, data, application and technology and the related architectural development method has been gaining ground for about a decade. The area of this research is to explore EA implementation in banks in India. The objective of the project is firstly to ascertain whether EA is implemented by these banks and secondly to provide an insight about the degree of such implementation if that is undertaken. Ten large banks are selected and their annual reports for the past three years are studied. Content analysis method - under qualitative research - is used to scan these reports for EA and related concepts. As envisaged, the banks are found to have taken some steps in titbits toward EA. The year-wise, function-wise and sector-wise patterns are also studied. The paper concludes with some directions for future research in this area.
