Desirable technology intelligence with a new value chain – focus on the Japanese electronics industry
by Yoshio Sugasawa, Fumiyuki Takahashi
International Journal of Technology Intelligence and Planning (IJTIP), Vol. 2, No. 4, 2006

Abstract: This research analyses the 'value network', a new cross-industry and cross-company value chain, using case studies from the electronics industry, which show the evolution of business models about structural changes in value chains and customer value creation. Furthermore, this research also examined how elements that are regarded as important in the definition of technology are incorporated into superior value chains. Consequently, an attempt is made to paradoxically verify the important role played by a series of concepts and processes related to Technology Intelligence (TI) in building a new value chain.
