Abstract: Identifying higher-level interface elements with which the user interacts on an e-business application should not be an arbitrary task. Unlike conventional applications, Web-based ones provide information and/or functions with the user via clickable links. These unique characteristics of Web-based applications call for a more methodical approach to identifying higher-level e-business application interface elements, their organisation, and its presentation to the user to make information consumption more efficient and effective. In this paper, we propose an interface specification method founded on the concepts of meta-information structure and information structure, as well as taking account of various page, link, and component types.
