Labour market transition of youth in developing economies: the case of countries in South East and Eastern Europe

Abstract: The goal of this research paper is to examine the influence of various factors on the migration of young people between the ages of 15 and 29 from school to work in five transition countries in the South East and Eastern Europe region, with similar institutional and economic framework. Using probit model, researchers examine the role of each of the variables and what their impact is in the transfer of young men and women and what influences the probability of being working or unemployed after the school is completed. The authors conclude that the elements such as age, gender, household financial situation, mother's education and working experience while studying play a role in the probability of an individual being hired, while other factors such as the field of education, living area and marital status do not affect.
