Abstract: This paper summarises the development of the Wireless Mobile Data Services (WMDS) in Zhejiang, a province typical of more economically developed southeast region of China. We surveyed 599 university students and business executives in Zhejiang in the fall of 2004 to examine whether Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) for WMDS are applicable in China, particularly in Zhejiang. The data were analysed using Structural Equation Modelling (SEM). This study revealed some interesting findings on adoption intention, perceptual beliefs and a few antecedent determinants. While the empirical results provide some support for the research model, they also reveal some findings opposite to our hypotheses. Some discussions are offered.
