Models for meeting activities in a public workplace - qualitative study in municipalities

Abstract: The purpose of this study is to discover how employees in municipality sectors experience the implementation and use of whole person process facilitation meetings and open space technology meetings in their change and development processes. This is a qualitative intervention study, with an exploratory design. Municipalities use this model in different meetings. We have completed three focus group interviews. The informants emphasised that the meeting models could support change processes. The views of managers on value, collaborative ability and management are also important and positive. The informants gained knowledge of communication and collaboration and everyone wished to use the methodology in their future work. The discussion/conclusion in this study emphasises that all the informants experienced the meeting models as down-to-earth and interactive. The most innovative thing in this study was that a sector used the models in employee-interviews, which they conducted in relatively large groups.
