Abstract: In an ever-increasing globalised environment, educational institutions too are expected to learn to adapt to rapid changes through learning organisation culture and processes resulting in higher knowledge performance levels. The main purpose of this study is to analyse the relationship between the learning organisation configuration and knowledge performance in the higher education sector in Albania, a domain where research has been missing extensively. In this perspective, a hypothesis claiming that the learning organisation dimensions have a positive impact on knowledge performance has been tested. The primary data for this empirical study is collected through a questionnaire delivered to full-time academic staff in higher education institutions. In total 103 questionnaires were delivered, and the collected data represented 60% of response rate. To achieve the research objective various statistical analysis including correlation analysis, and linear regression analysis are employed. Findings show that learning organisation dimensions positively affect perceived knowledge performance. Assuming this case study as representative of the higher education sector in Albania it is concluded that the internalisation of the learning organisation understanding by HEIs would significantly improve the knowledge performance and consequently overall organisational performance.
