Abstract: A quality index of linear multivariable models is presented in this paper, with application to linear parameter varying (LPV) systems. The index is based on the condition number of the static gains matrix of the process. An example of use in the identification by means of multi-objective optimisation of a non-linear process of two inputs and two outputs verifies the importance of the use of such index, in particular, if the identified model will be used for the synthesis of controllers.
