Research issues on medical information systems facing the implementation of HIPAA

Abstract: Through research of current literature and industry practice, this paper provides a framework that facilitates the identification of pressing research issues related to medical information systems facing the implementation of HIPAA. Along with the identified issues, potential research directions for uncovering effective solutions are also pointed out.
