Abstract: This research explains the types and characteristics of culture and leadership driving innovation in information and communication technological companies from Argentina and Colombia. The study was designed under a mixed paradigm, descriptive with a correlational approach, triangulated by a questionnaire and interviews to field experts and managers. The questionnaire was based on an innovative culture instrument supplemented by the organisational culture assessment instrument model, along with the multifactor leadership questionnaire. The results showed that an agile leader that inspires, supports and is a role model for the team is key to foster innovation processes, within an adhocratic culture that embraces the sense of community, and contemplates the investment of space, time and bonuses to reward ideas. The challenges were lack of dedication to training by the leaders, and lack of clarity in the idea validation processes.
