Web-based Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems: challenges and solutions

Abstract: Internet and information technology is gradually changing the way healthcare is delivered. The primary purpose of this paper is to discuss the development of web-based medical record systems. The challenges and solutions of the web-based electronic medical record systems are discussed to review the potential of expanded use of internet and mobile computing technology. These challenges include security, privacy, regulatory, document and implementing issues of electronic medical record systems.
