Abstract: SME cluster is an appropriate environment for SMEs with international ambitions. The model of their business activities - formally and informally in the context of export - is very interesting to be studied deeper. The role of SMEs in the context of exports in clusters occurs in various countries around the world. There are some studies discussing export activities in SME clusters in developed countries, while there is a lack of discussion for the developing countries. This study aims to analyse the export model activities undertaken by SMEs in one of the clusters. This study is supported by primary data obtained from a case study research of Cibaduyut SME cluster, which is a footwear SME cluster in Indonesia that has the potential and experience in the activities of foreign markets; with qualitative data collected from results of in-depth interviews of ten SMEs in the cluster. The research obtains an informal export activity model that is carried out in Cibaduyut SME cluster.
