Abstract: This study explored and assessed the dimensions of consciousness. Exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis was conducted on two different samples of 180 respondents each to explore, assess and confirm the consciousness scale. Internal consistency, convergent and discriminant validity was employed to validate the underlying structure. Structural equation modelling was used to confirm the partial nomological network of consciousness. Higher consciousness was termed as beyond self-consciousness (BYSELFCON) and lower-level consciousness as self-consciousness (SELCON). BYSELFCON had a strong, positive, and significant impact on intention to stay (ITS) and job satisfaction (JS). SELCON's impact on ITS and JS was positive and significant but not strong. This study is probably the first to quantitatively assess the individual and organisational consciousness scale and validate it. A partial nomological network of consciousness with organisational behaviour constructs viz., JS and ITS have been assessed through this study.
