Some lessons in outsourcing

Abstract: Millions of jobs in the USA are being lost to outsourcing. The phenomenon has gathered steam in the last few years and shows no signs of abating. The paper presents a balanced perspective on outsourcing and encourages managers to study the pros and cons of outsourcing before committing resources overseas. It examines the benefits and drawbacks of outsourcing, discusses some important outsourcing issues, and ends with some implications for managers and conclusions.
