International Journal of Business Excellence (IJBEX), Vol. 22, No. 2, 2020

Abstract: Sustainable success is the ultimate aim of electricity distribution companies. However, it cannot be achieved without an efficient supply chain that rigorously creates value for customers. Operational excellence (OPEX) is a holistic discipline which can help electricity distribution companies to pursue this path by focusing on waste minimisation and improve the service continuity. In the current study, the value stream of electricity distribution and its processes were studied and for the first time, an integrated OPEX framework for this business was developed. This framework is comprised of both technical and organisational aspects such as business intelligence, integrated asset management, and resilient supply chain.
