Abstract: Modernisation of the world coal industry suggests massive replacement of old rope shovels by new hydraulic backhoes. These excavators can be effectively used in complicated geological conditions but their technical capacity sufficiently depends on the technological parameters and schemes. A mathematical model of calculating of backhoes' capacity considering features of their application for blasted rock excavation is given in the article.
