Analysing impact of S&P mid cap and small cap returns on BSE Sensex returns

Abstract: Stock market plays an imperative role in the development of the economy and for the strong building of the financial system in different sector of the economy. In the recent times, the stock market has experienced radical increase in the volatility which has lead to turbulence in the financial market and various asset classes of the global economies. India has strong financial structure as compared to the other world economies. The present paper investigates the impact of small cap and mid cap returns on the BSE Sensex returns during 2013 to 2018. The results of the study suggest that returns from mid-cap and small cap play significant role in today's capital market. Compared to small cap stocks, mid cap stocks are less risky in BSE Sensex.
