Board diversity and corporate performance: the Jordanian Industrial Corporations case

Abstract: This paper aims to explore the relationship between board diversity and corporate performance in Jordanian Industrial Corporations during the year (2014). This will be explored through examining the impact of the board diversity in terms of (independence, educational level, and age) on the corporate financial performance in the latter companies. The paper also aims to identify the impact of board size, and corporate size on the corporate financial performance in the latter companies. The study's sample consists of 49 Jordanian Industrial Corporations listed on Amman Stock Exchange. The paper will analyse the annual financial reports of the selected companies. It will also conduct the multiple regression analysis in order to explore the relationship between the study's variables. It was found that there is a statistically significant relationship between the board diversity in terms of (independence and age) and the corporate financial performance in Jordanian Industrial Corporations.
