Abstract: Bandung is one of the few cities in Indonesia that is dominated by the creative industry. This study aims to analyse the different aspects of the policy for developing creative industries at the industry, corporate and company levels by applying qualitative approaches and conducting a descriptive analysis. The data are collected through observations, interviews and a literature review. The results indicate that the policy has been implemented at three levels. This policy aims to strengthen business functions and business centres at the micro and institutional levels, respectively. Meanwhile, some regulations have been set up at the macro level to facilitate the creation of a supportive business climate. Several recommendations can be derived from the findings. Firstly, the establishment of creative industries can be facilitated by providing technical guidance, training and capital assistance and by creating business networks. Secondly, a conducive business climate can be created by implementing the appropriate government policies and developing an information technology infrastructure for maximising the activities of companies.
