Abstract: In this work, the results of the characterisation of an electroless brass film deposited on low carbon steel are correlated with the conditions of application of an intermediate zinc film. The results report that the best conditions of electroless brass plating are obtained when the zincate is done under current density of 7–10 A/dm², temperature of 40°C and with immersion time of 35–45 seconds.
