Abstract: The model of information technology (IT) adoption has been studied extensively from two main perspectives: a considered perspective to adopt IT, which underlines technology-organisation-environment (TOE) frameworks, and an impact perspective, which conceptualises performance implication as a tool to increase competitiveness. The objective of this study is to improve the holistic view of both perspectives in the context of competitive advantage in the firm associated with industrial clusters by combining both perspectives. This study chose Indonesian creative industry clusters regarding various institutions that have supported the growth of the burgeoning creative firm. To achieve this objective, a model of IT adoption assembled three considered factors of IT adoption (i.e., technology, organisational, environmental) and three performance implications (i.e., operation, innovation, and market). To test the model, a survey of 112 creative firms was conducted and PLS-SEM method was used to confirm the IT adoption model. The results confirm how creative firms within clusters adopt IT and confirm the IT adoption model as a competitiveness imperative in business activities.
