Abstract: In order to solve the problem of weak discernibility relation between the demands of knowledge in the process of product design, a knowledge organisation model based on granularity principle is put forward. The paper applies knowledge unit and knowledge point to describe product design knowledge, adopts granularity principle to perform the granulation tissue of product design knowledge, monitors the classification, association and inference of knowledge points according to task requirements, structures and formalises the related knowledge, and ultimately provides knowledge service in the form of knowledge unit. Through the analysis of a case, the method is proven to be effective to improve the relevance of knowledge and to improve the efficiency of knowledge service.
