Abstract: Most of the organisations tend to accept the green practices as a concern to environmental sustainability. Therefore, this study aims to identify the key drivers that influence to adopt green supply chain practices of manufacturing firms in Sri Lanka. For this purpose, quantitative approach was followed and data collected through structured questionnaire were analysed using structural equation model. Theoretical scope of the study includes identifying external factors based on institutional theory and internal factors based on resource-based view for adopting green supply chain practices while empirical scope narrows down to the manufacturing companies in western province of Sri Lanka. The study found that normative pressure and mimetic pressure as external factors and tangible resources and capabilities as internal factors are significantly influenced to adopt green supply chain practices while coercive pressure and intangible resources are not. These findings will guide manufacturers and suppliers when implementing green supply chain practices in their organisation and help government to make some policies regarding green supply chain management.
