Abstract: Smart antennas are suggested to be used in future generation wireless and mobile networks to provide the service with high capacity and service quality. In this paper, we propose a novel multimedia wireless and mobile network using smart antennas. The smart antenna in the proposed system provides a Space Division Multiple Access (SDMA) scheme to improve system capacity dramatically. In the proposed system, the Quality of Service (QoS) is guaranteed for real-time service at the cost of the tolerable quality decrease for non-real-time service. As we expected, the system capacity and performance are highly improved by employing smart antennas.
