Abstract: PVA/CS/HEMA/nHA membranes were prepared by electrospinning at different voltages, to produce osteoinductive scaffolds that promote bone extracellular matrix production and in-situ remodelling. Infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) of samples obtained at 25 and 30 kV and 60 min spun reveal that the presence of chitosan generates some malformations, and glutaraldehyde generates agglomerations in the threads. FTIR do not show significant changes in the functional groups, which indicate that these PVA/CS/HEMA/nHA scaffolds may represent a promising biomaterial for bone tissue engineering.
