Abstract: This paper makes the case for a rigorous analysis of HR outsourcing, and reports preliminary findings of research into HRD outsourcing in the UK. Results cover the scope and extent of outsourcing, reasons for outsourcing, how outsourcing decisions are taken and by whom, and reported effects from outsourcing.
