  Abstract/
Summary
The new stake in design today is to examine the global purpose of the design activities. In this perspective, project design management not only consists in allocating resources, but also in stimulating collaboration among the people involved in the project, in order to increase the performance of design teams. In this article, we are particularly interested in the knowledge exchanged during these collaborations. We first examine various forms of collaboration and the need for a repository to manage collaborative design. A model of design environment and the analysis of exchanged knowledge to manage this environment are also provided. An application to the particular case of conflicts resolution in collaborative design is then studied through the use of software formalising the exchanges during a real industrial conflict.
