Summary
The question of asset management (AM) has never been more important in today's world of globalization. The management of assets such as facilities and equipment can be a challenging task and optimizing their usage is critical. The emergence of automated data capture technologies such as RFID and sensors could greatly improve asset lifecycle management. In this paper, we identified a set of requirements for asset management, i.e. asset location monitoring and asset condition monitoring. We also examined the benefit of different ID technologies-based approaches for asset management regarding these requirements. For this purpose, data capture technologies and data management methods were contemplated.
