  Abstract/
Summary
End-of-Life (EoL) research is emerging in the recent years to improve the environmental sustainability of products in the product lifecycle management. One of the most important areas is design for EoL where the designers need to consider the EoL of the product during design stage. To be effective, enabling systems and tools are needed to facilitate the execution of design for EoL. A Design and End-of-Life Information Integration framework (DELII) has been proposed earlier. In this paper, system architecture for the implementation of this DELII framework is presented. The DELII framework is a framework designed to manage information feedback from EoL to Design for an effective PLM. This system architecture consists of four layers; namely main layers; namely backend repository, middleware component, application components and user interface. It leverages on the semantic web services and ontology capability to provide standardized nomenclature over a distributed environment for the enhancement of information sharing and communications. A use case is also presented to illustrate the working of the system architecture.
