Summary
The purpose of this presentation is to raise the flag to stop negative attitudes that threaten health and environment. It highlights on continuing disposal of plastic waste resulted from meals provided to passengers while travelling from town to town. Data has been collected from the Main land port of Khartoum to give an idea about the flux of people to and fro Khartoum and the consequent growth of waste impacting the agricultural lands around the highways. It gives an idea about the amount of plastic waste involved and also highlights on the affected zones. The presentation concludes with short term and long term recommendations that can mitigate the risk on short term and invite intervention of technology to provide better solutions on the long term.
