  Abstract/
Summary
This contribution focuses on the product recycling management system introduced by the WEEE Directive in order to recover electrical and electronic waste. By underlying that the recovery network is in continuous evolution and the difficulty to reach a consensus between stakeholders is one of the major problems, we try to address what are the main critical factors at the institutional, configuration and operational level. The possibility to measure performances and plan improvements is strictly related to a stabilization of the system. Future research is oriented to define a performance measurement system which will allow planning improvements and periodically access the efficiency of the recovery chain. The Danish WEEE implementation process is used as a case study.
