  Abstract/
Summary
The potential impact of introducing parking cash-out scheme as an option for employees of Napier University has been investigated. An on-line questionnaire consists of six different parking cash-out scenarios with three different cash-out values and period of cashing out. The questionnaire is designed to investigate attitudes and acceptance of cash out parking scheme at Napier University. It has been investigated at a time where there have been discussions and proposals for parking management at the university. The analysis revealed that greater proportion of respondents of sample size prefers cashing out on daily basis for their allocated parking permits. Other improvements that would impact on the employee travel behaviour are the reduction in permit cost or the abolishment of parking charges. Although the later would encourage driving to work and increase vehicle trips to work, the former would moderate driving to work and subsequently encourages the use of alternative modes.
