Abstract/ Summary |
Operation, maintenance and decommissioning are important functions of the product lifecycle. This paper will focus on the issues concerning the formalization and normalization of the digital document exchange between engineering/constructor and owner/operator of an industrial product or process facility. Main industrial standards on technical publications aim at enabling the reuse of information and at streamlining the editing and publishing process. This paper will expose the results of studies on the use of digital publications according to these standards to support maintenance tasks. We will point out some drawbacks of digital documentation and focus on the tools provided for the updating of documentation. There is a need for more efficient interaction tools like annotation tools. We propose a typology of annotations, first step of a more scientific approach for the design of generic structures to support interaction through digital devices. |
