Abstract/
Summary |
This paper examines process re-engineering and performance management across the value stream from invitation to tender through to supporting the product in the field. The paper finds gaps in existing supply chain models and performance measurement hierarchies and develops extensions of existing hierarchies for an Engineer To Order (ETO) company. Re-engineering of the business processes and deployment of the performance measures in the company resulted in attention changing from improving the operations area to focus on the upstream processes and systems, in particular the order winning and product development processes. The paper provides insight to the performance management, re-engineering of the supply chain and how it relates to the product lifecycle management processes and systems. |
