Abstract: |
This paper aims to examine the changes to innovation brought about by the internet, and paints an overall picture about e-innovation. Based on a systematic survey of the current efforts made by industry and academia in using the term of e-innovation and in promoting the concept of e-innovation, it found that e-innovation is expanding traditional innovation in two aspects: application of innovation and delivery of innovation. These expansions are leading e-innovation to become a new platform, which is characterised by five Ds: digital form, distributed nature, decoupling activities, dedication to channel change, and deployment of different rules. To develop further the platform, six barriers have to be overcome. |
