Abstract: There are several proposed infrastructures to enable the sharing of learning resources. Each proposal focuses on certain aspects of the e-learning management system. An assessment of recent proposed infrastructures would give researchers a better understanding of the technologies and features required to support future network of learning object repositories. This paper provides the assessment of four e-learning communication infrastructures in the form of a comparative analysis that focuses on the architecture, integration, and interoperability of the infrastructure and uses the results to recommend e-learning infrastructure research and development.
