Risk analysis in reuse-oriented software development
by Anil Kumar Tripathi, Manjari Gupta
International Journal of Information Technology and Management (IJITM), Vol. 5, No. 1, 2006
Abstract: Risk identification, its assessment and methods to deal with them are important activities in software project management. Various types of such risks have been studied and solutions/guidelines are available in the literature. A reuse-oriented software development project may have some risks that are there only because of the 'Reuse Orientation'. This work attempts to identify such possible risks. Risks are results of decisions that are normally based on erroneous, or so to say, improper assumptions. The paper starts with the idea of risk in general, discusses the risks associated with conventional software development (with no reuse) in brief and finally deals with the risks associated with Reuse-Oriented Software Development.
