WRITR provides an international forum for practitioners, academics and policymakers to exchange concepts, research and best practices in the field of intermodal transportation. The demand for transportation that is safe, efficient and cost-effective has led to increasing use of responsive multimodal transportation systems within the supply chains of many firms. Policy makers also have an interest in developing systems that balance the safety/security needs of their constituents with business/consumer objectives. Furthermore, long-term sustainability is an important goal of any system.

Objectives

The objective of WRITR is to act as a catalyst for the international exchange of ideas, knowledge, and skills relating to transportation systems, supply chain management, and logistics. It is intended to benefit businesses, policy makers, and researchers from both the developed and the developing world.


Readership

WRITR is designed to provide individuals, managers, professionals, researchers, and policy makers with the tools to understand not only the individual modes of transportation, but also the linkage between the various modes and their impact on supply chain management and firm performance. It is a forum for these same groups to disseminate ideas and best practices from their fields or regions of the world.


Contents

WRITR publishes original papers, review papers, conceptual papers, business and management case studies, conference reports, and book reviews of relevant topics.

    • Submitted articles should not have been previously published or be currently under consideration for publication elsewhere.
    • Conference papers may only be submitted if the paper has been completely re-written (taken to mean more than 50%) and the author has cleared any necessary permissions with the copyright owner if it has been previously copyrighted.
    • All our articles are refereed through a double-blind process.
