Computing and engineering are sciences that have played a major role in the lives we live in the 21st century. In today's technology-driven world, computing and engineering are the cornerstone and driver of innovation in the devices we utilize daily to improve our quality of life. Electrical, electronics and computer engineering are driven by growth and new engineering ideas. The latter driver, namely new ideas, is actually an element of research in engineering.

This special issue will explore long-term innovative research topics in power, control, energy, high-voltage applications, fuels, smart grids, power electronics, systems and applications, electrical machines, communication systems, signal processing, circuits and systems, computers and information technology.

Submitted papers should not have been previously published nor be currently under consideration for publication elsewhere. (N.B. Conference papers may only be submitted if the paper has been completely re-written and if appropriate written permissions have been obtained from any copyright holders of the original paper).

All papers are refereed through a peer review process.
