Abstract: In 2004, our research group conducted a research survey among managers in St. Petersburg, Russia for the project, Social Capital, Trust and Managerial Strategies among Russian Enterprises. It is a follow up to the survey of 2000, N = 594. The more there is openness in the firm|s contact with the external social environment, the higher the level of social responsibility of the management. The increase in the managers| social responsibility leads to the fact that these managers choose models of sustainable development as a strategic reference point for their firms. Distinctions in spheres of social responsibility have also been rather strongly revealed.
