Abstract: The Red Nacional de Caminos de México (RNCM) is a model of Mexico's road network. The objective of this work is to determine the indices, measures, graphical representations and types of analysis to be taken account into an initial study. The research methodology consists of two steps: 1) collect; 2) classify the information. The aim is to identify the topological characteristics, the form of representation and data that are required for the analysis of a transport network. As a result of the analysis, it was found that the RNCM can be analysed from the theoretical graphs and thus determine its topological characteristics. This work is limited to analyse the technical considerations necessary for the study of the RNCM, explaining the interpretation of the indices and possible practical applications.
