Abstract: This research investigates the adoption and usage of Mobile and Wireless Technologies (MWT) in Small to Medium-Sized Enterprises (SMEs). The research attempts to extend the technological innovation theories to MWT research by developing a model to explain the adoption and the usage of MWT in SMEs. The research also highlights different advantages and challenges surrounding the MWT area. The factors introduced in the model are hypothesised to influence the adoption and the usage of MWT significantly in SMEs. The developed model is of interest to SMEs, professionals, researchers and policymakers interested in the MWT area in SMEs and indeed, could pave the way for conducting more comparative studies between developed and developing countries with respect to MWT adoption and diffusion.
