Abstract: 5S technique requires significant attributes for its successful implementation in the manufacturing organisations. Successful adoption of 5S philosophy necessitates the involvement from top management to bottom level of employees and many other attributes in the organisations in order to establish an appropriate platform for the implementation of other lean manufacturing initiatives. The research helps to select the best attributes thorough the attempt by developing a model of 5S technique decision making by utilising the analytical hierarchy process (AHP). The research paper presents the framework for selecting the best attributes for the successful implementation of 5S technique which act as base foundation for standing the pillars of other quality tools and enhance the business excellence. The significant attributes highlighted in this study can guide the top management to focus on crucial areas and allocating necessary resources for ensuring successful 5S implementation in manufacturing organisations. Further, the study also establishes AHP framework for providing the justification of 5S implementation in manufacturing organisations.
