Abstract: Analysing well testing signals provides a practical way to characterise hydrocarbon reservoirs. Since having a perfect constant rate is hardly possible, petroleum engineers often deal with the multi-rate well testing signals. This study describes an application of the coupled deconvolution-wavelet transform scheme for extraction of reservoir impulse response from the multi-rate well testing signals. Performance of the proposed algorithm is validated using a set of smooth, incomplete and noisy simulated examples. Extraction of the impulse response from the incomplete well test signals has not been considered in the literature up to now. The results confirm an excellent performance of the developed algorithm for revealing the wellbore, reservoir and boundary. The parameters of dual porosity reservoir are estimated whit an absolute average relative deviation percent (AARD%) of 4.68%. [Received: February 10, 2016; Accepted: February 6, 2017]
