Abstract: This study is to examine the impact of family background and entrepreneurship-specific education on venture creation knowledge while examining the mediation effect of entrepreneurship-specific education on the relationship between family background and venture creation knowledge as well as the moderating effect of gender on the relationship between entrepreneurship-specific education and venture creation knowledge, using the entrepreneurship graduates of the University of Kelaniya, Sri Lanka. The inferences of the study depict that, relationship between family background and venture creation knowledge is mediated by entrepreneurship-specific education, and gender does not moderate the relationship between entrepreneurial-specific education and venture creation knowledge.
