Abstract: In this paper, we analyze the performance of dual-hop optical wireless communication systems under the effect of strong atmospheric turbulence. We consider a relay assisted link between source and destination using a decode and forward relaying protocol. The K-distribution turbulence model is used for free space optics system channel modelling. The exact closed form expression is derived for bit error rate and outage probability and illustrated through numerical plots. Further we consider different modulation scheme and compare the results for different modulation scheme.
