Abstract: This paper explores the fundamental issues in procurement of public private partnership (PPP) projects for transport sector infrastructure in the public sector in Pakistan. The authors have conducted research by employing archival and qualitative case study analysis. With the help of case studies from public sector organisations in Pakistan, the paper discusses the procurement of PPP transport infrastructure projects in Pakistan. This paper has identified the various factors affecting choice of procurement and the issues in its implementation in the public sector organisations involved with managing transport infrastructure projects in Pakistan. This paper has depicted a picture of the ongoing processes and practice of procurement of transport sector projects in public sector in Pakistan including the issues and barriers of procuring PPP projects in transport sector in public sector of Pakistan.
