Abstract: In this work, the exergy method was used for the thermodynamic analysis of phosphate fertilisers and salts production train in Bulgaria. Material, energy and exergy balances are made for the phosphate fertiliser and salt production train as a whole and for its separate parts. The internal and external exergy losses, as well as the exergy efficiency are calculated. The exergy efficiency of the phosphate fertilisers and salts production train is found to be 8.30%. Based on the exergy analysis of the phosphate fertiliser and salt production train, the main sources of exergy losses are determined. Suggestions are made to increase the exergy efficiency of the phosphate fertiliser and salt production train up to 14.35%.
